So, you walk into a bar and everybody you see inside is in leather biker jackets, gloves, boots, and of course, the most prominent feature of them all, biker belts. Suddenly you realize you look very out of place. Time to get yourself a biker belt!
Choices, Choices, Everywhere! – Biker Belts
These belts are fashioned from leather, sometimes genuine, and other times faux. Depending on the craftsmanship, the prices of these leather belts can go quite steep. The cherished ones are the hand crafted pieces, adorned with those amazing studded buckles that will gleam and shine till your eyes can see no more.
As the times change, so do these belts. From solid black, they have now been adopted in tints and shades of brown, green and even yellow. If money is not an issue, you can even get these belts custom made, which will give you an opportunity to experiment with different types of materials. For example, you can choose alligator or snake skin leather (if you are feeling quite adventurous), or cow hide (if being a regular Joe is your aim in life), or even deer skin (fashion sees no boundaries, eh?)
Keeping Up With the Trends – Biker Belts
The width of the belt also matters a great deal, and is definitive of what you’d rather do with it. If you want to show it off, the wider the better, although, that might not be the most comfortable of choices. On the other hand, I distinctly remember a time when the thinner ones were not only considered fashionable, but were also a source of pure envy in their gleaming neon colors. You can never have enough loops and holes in a belt, and of course, the main element of the belt lies in the buckle.
The Buckle Makes the Bang! – Biker Belts
The buckle is the star of each belt. Biker belts seem to have developed a certain fondness for the innovation in these buckles where symbols etched on them hold almost a fanatically devotedly meaning. They can joke or inspire, make fun of or proclaim affiliations with just an etching. Yes, that’s what buckles can do.
The most common symbol etched or carved upon these usually metallic buckles is a cross, a beer slogan, a skull and bones, a couple of guns, flames, eagle, flags, knives, Harley insignia, or a combination of some of those.
They say a fool knows the cost of everything, but the value of nothing. Let’s not forget the value a single biker belt can proclaim. After all, did biker belts not define an entire generation of ours?
